Len Cress started in the floor and carpet cleaning business over 30 years ago.  Back then, the floors and the equipment used to clean them were a lot different than today.  Trends and tastes change; floors, finishes, and cleaning products change.  One thing that hasn’t changed, however, is LJ Cress Associates’ dedication to quality and good service that has defined the business since its beginning.

Paul Cress has worked with his father Len for almost 20 years.  He started out as a young boy tagging along after his father on the job, then as a teenager learning the ropes and making sure the quality of the job was the same that Len’s loyal customers had grown to expect.  Paul has been an established partner in the business for over 15 years now.  His goal is the same as his father’s:  to gain a customer for life, not to do a quick, “good-enough” job that does not meet the customer’s needs.   This starts with listening to the customer and then making sure the job is done right and the customer is satisfied.

Originally, LJ Cress’ main areas of expertise were paste-waxing floors, cleaning carpets and doing janitorial work; through the years the business has grown substantially, with the capacity to finish or clean any surface you walk on.  This has also made it necessary to continually adapt and add to the list of floors which we can service.  Currently, the list includes stone floors, Mexican and vinyl tiles, grout cleaning, power washing and staining of outdoor decks and concrete surfaces, full-service hardwood floor maintenance, and much more.

LJ Cress Associates is proud of the fact that many of our clients are long-term, repeat customers who have been with us for 20-30 years.  One of the things that is often mentioned by those who get their floors serviced on a regular basis is that they appreciate knowing who will be coming through their door; we are not a franchise company who might send a different person each time.  We are committed to working with each customer on a personal level to determine their individual floor needs, and then finding the best way to meet those needs.
